Hotel For Dogs- Kimpton Seafire

This weekend I stayed at the Kimpton Seafire Resort, and I was happy to discover  that they are pet friendly! Meaning, as long as your pet can fit through the elevator door they are welcome to stay there (do you think a baby elephant fit could fit through the door?).  I decided to take Roxy because it isn't often that you can bring your dog to a hotel. As far as I know there are no other hotels in Grand Cayman that allow dogs. This is a review of my experience:

To view the hotel or book  a room check out their website here:

From the moment we arrived we (including Roxy) were greeted with enthusiasm. Roxy was getting a lot of attention from the door men and the lobby workers. Everyone was asking her name, and petting her. Dogs are allowed to be in the lobby, the room, and the beach. The only place they don't allow dogs is the pool area (understandably). They only reserve two floors for dogs (I suppose for allergy reasons). Floors three and eight are pet friendly floors, our room was on the third floor. They brought up a doggy bowl and bed for her (but of course Roxy ended up sleeping on the bed). The only thing Roxy didn't like was the elevator. She was petrified in it! She could tell she wasn't on solid ground when it was moving and she started shaking like a leaf, poor girl, I couldn't help but laugh. She also spotted herself in the elevator mirror and thought it was another dog (oh geez, dogs can be so gullible). Apparently the entire Kimpton chain of hotels are pet friendly, so when travelling throughout the US (where most of their locations are) I could bring Roxy. I believe that this is the wave of the future for hotels. Dogs are becoming more and more welcome in public places, restaurants, etc. It is only a matter of time before dogs will be accepted in all or most hotels. I strongly recommend bringing your pet to the Kimpton next time you check in, they'll get the royal treatment, and so will you!
